" Kind of like how I am up north, I think Eddie has a good knack. "I can see it, but Eddie ain't that old," he laughed. UK recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow doesn't think Gran is the grandpa of the family, more like the wise father. Going there (UK) and seeing how it was like a family and our how our faith lined up and how it’s just an extension of their family - it just put confirmation in my heart that we knew that we knew." Fitzgerald's testimony sold the Scalzos on UK. When the Scalzos visited campus last spring, they were surprised to see Nik's old youth basketball coach, Steve Fitzgerald, the father of UK defensive lineman Abule Abadi-Fitzgerald. Gran's recruiting success has created a South Florida family within the team. Joining the "family" has been a big part of UK's recruiting pitch across the country. While their sons are being recruited, they must be able to trust the coach is going to do whatever it takes to make sure their son is surrounded by those who want him to succeed. Scalzo's sentiment is shared by the parents of most players. I wanted to make sure when he did go up there that he’s with people who are going to be like family. "Heck, I walked into Nik’s room last night and they were on the phone together, just talking about what the week’s going to be like. That investment does not end once a player commits. "He’s not the guy that’s gonna come on campus just to schmooze the kids. “ You can just count on him and it’s not fake," Jerry Scalzo said. His steady presence and demeanor inspired a nickname, "Grandpa Eddie." A former Clemson wide receiver and current assistant at Cardinal Gibbons, Gran has always treated Jerry Scalzo the same. Nik's father Jerry has seen Gran operate from a father's perspective and a coach's perspective. Gran on a high school sideline, via 247. “The first time I met him I knew that’s someone I wanted to play for," Scalzo said. It's difficult to describe, but when Nik Scalzo first met UK's offensive coordinator, something clicked. He developed that reputation by being a genuine recruiter. Gran's name is well-known throughout the tight-knit, talented high school football community. Everybody’s got a niche and I think his niche is talent evaluation and getting the kids he targets.” He knows the kids, he knows the coaches, he follows up. "Across the board, I’ve been doing this 17 years and I haven’t seen anybody as good as Eddie. He’s been recruiting down here for 30 some-odd years," said Matt DuBuc, the head coach of Cardinal Gibbons High School in Ft. "In South Florida, 100 percent his name carries weight around here. In that time Gran has developed a reputation that is second to none among high school coaches. Miami-Dade's northern border is the 17th-most populous county in America and arguably the most-talented area for high school football in country.īroward County has been a second home for Gran since he began his coaching career in the early 90s. Gran's incredible run at Kentucky did not happen overnight.Īlmost two million people live in Broward County, Florida. This year UK has already received four commitments from the area, including the Cats' future quarterback, Nik Scalzo. Over the last two years Kentucky's offensive coordinator has signed 14 players from South Florida. The Cats quickly achieved similar success in South Florida when Eddie Gran joined the coaching staff in 2016. Mark Stoops' unprecedented Kentucky football recruiting success started in Ohio with the help of Vince Marrow.

Mood modification-This refers to the subjective experiences that people report as a consequence of playing solitaire and can be seen as a coping strategy (i.e., they experience an arousing "buzz" or a "high" or paradoxically a tranquilizing feel of "escape" or "numbing").For instance, even if the person is not actually playing solitaire they will be constantly thinking about the next time that they will be (i.e., a total preoccupation with solitaire). Salience-This occurs when solitaire becomes the single most important activity in the person’s life and dominates their thinking (preoccupations and cognitive distortions), feelings (cravings) and behaviour (deterioration of socialised behaviour). It’s just that sometimes, for some individuals, they may begin to really overdo those activities as a form of escapism…It’s not about technology. People who have mental health issues, or are simply under stress, tend to be drawn to things that are fun and distracting. People ‘I’m addicted to cupcakes’, ‘I’m addicted to chocolate’ meaning, ‘This is a really fun thing that I like to do a lot.' There’s a huge debate that goes on in the field right now about whether video games can be compared to things like substance abuse, or if video games are more similar to hobby-like activities that many people enjoy - and some people might overdo…a fixation with solitaire is more of a behavioral addiction-an obsessive behavioral pattern that can be a sign of underlying mental distress or illness. “It’s important to recognize the difference between really liking something and having a clinical addiction. OBS also does not seem to like this game a lot, especially in the tavern because I am getting a lot of encoding problems in the area when I am trying to record. Although, if you play survival and you reach the point where waves are literally pushing hundreds of enemies at once, and you see a lot of explosions and effects happening at the same time, then you may experience lag. It is also pretty optimized for the most parts as I see little to no dips on frames per second when playing the game. Hopefully, they can still add a few more touches for graphic improvement here and there before the final release, but seeing that this game will be out of Early Access this month, it may take a while to grow on you, especially if you are so used to Dungeon Defenders. I cannot pinpoint the exact issues, but I think it is about the shadows, and the character models having a gloss effect to them. However, something just looks peculiar to me. In Awakened, it has improved lighting, the textures are of higher quality, and everything is more vibrant. It looks more polished since it has a good blend of the models, the lighting, and the shadows, but it is also a lot darker. Comparing the first two maps of the first game and Awakened, we can easily see that the old one looks a tad better. My issue here is, I love the first Dungeon Defenders graphics it was a game that was released a decade ago, and it still looks great even today. They even revamped the maps, and the tavern looks more unique and architecturally sound than before, and this is to be more consistent with the intended art style. Dungeon Defenders: Awakened uses a different art style, and they have to remodel the characters and enemies. A final review would come out after the game is out of Early access though, so let us hope for the best!Ĭhromatic Games developed it on Unreal Engine 4, which gives us an updated look at the character models, the maps, and even the enemies compared to the first game. Regardless of that, I have seen the core foundation of the game, and it is promising. I finally played a few weeks ago, and thus, this is my impression since, as an Early Access game, a lot of things are changing every update. Dungeon Defenders: Awakened is an Early Access game, and it has been out for more than a couple of months now. Cast (“Hidden” begins five minutes after “Destined”. Undertale Review - Nintendo Switch Update The track An Ending plays during the call, except in the Mettaton, Leaderless, Dog, Alphys, and Impossible variants. However, the content of the phone call is based upon the actions that the protagonist has made throughout the game. There are many versions of this ending, all consisting of Sans calling the protagonist's Cell Phone and leaving a message telling the protagonist of the Underground's fate. This ending occurs when the requirements for either the True Pacifist Route or a Genocide Route have not been met, or if the protagonist on their first playthrough did not kill anyone as a prerequisite to the True Pacifist Route. Consider a QR code link to a video, showcasing your company’s tours.Īnother advantage of using QR codes lies in their editability. Codes can be applied to ads, reducing advertisement space, capitalizing on marketing funds, and providing a more detailed customer interaction. Using these codes decreases the need for tickets, brochures, flyers, etc, saving money and trees. A typical smartphone camera recognizes the unique pixelated pattern, sending the customer information or to an internet location. However, it wasn’t until the use of smartphones that brought QR code into our everyday lives. Developed in 1994 by Masahiro Hara (opens in a new tab) at Denso Wave Incorporated as a means to track vehicle parts during manufacturing, these two-dimensional barcodes have found their way into almost every industry, including tourism. This will then display the URL found within the code, giving you the option to follow it.Scan and Go! Quick response codes, or QR codes, are just that, a rapid way for people to click and react. Using the Chrome browser, you can just long-press the QR code and select ‘Search with Google Lens’ from the menu that pops up. But what if you’re browsing the web on your phone and see a code displayed on your screen? You can still scan it. Okay, most of the time you’re going to be wanting to scan an external QR code with your phone. How to scan a QR code that’s displayed on your screen There’s also usually no real need to choose a paid QR code scanner app, but note that the free ones tend to be ad-heavy, and it can be easy to accidentally tap an advert rather than the QR code link, so double check you’re tapping the right thing. The exact process will vary from app to app, but will be broadly in line with the methods above – once you’ve opened the app and got its QR scanning screen displayed, just point your camera at the QR code and it should automatically scan and provide you with a link to the contents. As with any other method for scanning a QR code though, you will typically need an internet connection for it to work. Tap on that to head to the website or other location hidden within the code. Point Google Lens at the QR code for a second or two and it will highlight the code and display a link to its contents. This looks a bit like, well, a camera lens. To activate this, just launch Google Assistant (usually by saying “Hey, Google”, or long-pressing the home button), then tap the Google Lens icon. Google Assistant can also scan QR codes using a tool called Google Lens, just as long as your phone is running Android 8 or above. How to scan QR codes with Google Lens on Android If you’re still having no luck, then chances are your phone’s native camera app can’t scan QR codes, but not to worry, there are other ways to scan them, detailed below. Some phones also require you to enable QR code scanning on their main settings screen, so you might have to do some digging. To do this, tap the Bixby Vision icon in the top left corner of the camera app. Note that on some Samsung phones you’ll also need to enable Bixby Vision within the camera before QR code scanning will work. The cultivar Kewalo is partially resistant to bacterial wilt but is an uncommon cultivar. Plant only certified disease-free plants. Remove and destroy all infected plant material. Do not use pepper, eggplant, potato, sunflower, or cosmos in this rotation. Rotation with non-susceptible plants, such as corn, beans, and cabbage, for at least three years provides some control. Prevention & Treatment: Control of bacterial wilt of plants grown in infested soil is difficult. If an infected stem is cut crosswise, it will look brown and tiny drops of yellowish ooze may be visible. This results in rapid wilt of the plant while the leaves stay green. The bacteria multiply rapidly inside the water-conducting tissue of the plant, filling it with slime. This bacterium survives in the soil for extended periods and enters the roots through wounds made by transplanting, cultivation, insect feeding damage, and natural wounds where secondary roots emerge.ĭisease development is favored by high temperatures and high moisture. Eliminate old pear, apple, or quince trees in the area that may harbor the disease.ĥ. Include 1 inch of healthy bark on each side and 3–4 inches on the ends. If cankers are present on large branches and trunks, remove them in winter. Avoid excessive pruning which can also cause lush growth, but do remove suckers at the base of the tree and watersprouts which arise from the trunk or branches.ģ. If plant vigor is lacking, fertilize lightly in the fall. Ensure good drainage and avoid heavy fertilizing in spring that leads to an abundance of succulent growth. Here is a good video by Nathan Brandt of MU Extension on fireblight and how to prune it out. Also, clean up and dispose of any dead twigs and mummified fruit on the ground. Avoid pruning in spring when bacterial ooze is prevalent. Disinfect tools between cuts by dipping in a 10% chlorine bleach solution. In late summer or winter, prune out all diseased wood at least 10 to 15 inches below the infection and destroy. When terminal buds set and tissue hardens, the disease stops progressing.ġ. Hail damage is often followed by a rapid spread of the disease. The ooze dries and is carried to new sites by insects, wind, rain, or pruning equipment where it causes new infections. In spring, the cankers produce a white or amber ooze which contains the bacteria. Young trees can be killed in one season, but it generally takes several years of continuous dieback for death to occur.įireblight bacteria overwinter in cankers larger than one inch in diameter and in mummified fruits. These can girdle the stem causing even more dieback. As the twigs die back, dead sunken areas on the stem called cankers develop. A characteristic shepherd's crook often develops as tender growth rapidly wilts and dies. As the disease progresses, leaves and twigs take on a black shriveled appearance as if scorched by fire. Common entry points are through wounds, blossoms, and natural openings such as stomatas and nectaries. Symptoms begin as dark green, water-soaked spots on tissue where it is penetrated by bacteria. If not controlled, it can cause flower and fruit blight, twig and branch dieback, or even kill the plant. Temperature, humidity, insect vectors, and wounding can all affect the severity of infection. It is a serious disease that affects new leaves, fruit, flowers, and stems of over 75 species of trees and shrubs in the rose family including: apple, crabapple, hawthorn, pear, pyracantha, cotoneaster, spirea, flowering quince, and mountain-ash.
